Bicyclist Killed in Suspected DUI Crash

A bicyclist was fatally struck by a suspected drunken driver in the Long Beach area on Sunday morning, authorities said.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Emmanuel Camacho, was taken to a hospital and later arrested for driving under the influence.

Camacho is due in court today in Bellflower, according to sheriff's online jail records.
A bicyclist was hit and killed by a suspected drunken driver in the Long Beach area on Sunday morning. The female cyclist, identified as 33-year-old Crista Contreras, was struck at about 2 a.m. while trying to cross Del Amo Boulevard on Pioneer Boulevard in Lakewood. She was pronounced dead at the site of the crash. The driver's car smashed into a telephone pole and stopped. The driver, 24-year-old Emmanuel Camacho, was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital to treat his injuries. He is under arrest and booked on a DUI charge.

I just met Crista a couple weeks ago And only saw her briefly one other time. chat such a great personality such a sparkle in a row I made you feel really comfortable neither I just met her so amazing that she's gone she had so much life to live she will be missed by all her friends and family. wind up with brief like a privilege to have met her rest in peace Crista

I have known crista bout 10 years or more! She is an amazing woman! my children and I are blessed to have had her in our lives! I am still heartbroken and am in disbelief, totally at loss for words!!!!!! Love you girly and thank you for sharing your time with us

Crista Was a nice person she didn't deserve to go out like that i feel for her children if there was a way to take their pain and sadness i would do it in a heartbeat they dont deserve to bare this kind of pain they're still kids R.I.P Crista
