The passenger side of a white sedan was crushed by an apparent garbage truck that said “Republic Services” — a waste management company — on the side, video of the scene showed.

Padilla was driving at least 50 miles per hour in his 1991 Ford Mustang before the crash when he was passing another vehicle and lost control.
