Man fatally wounded crashes car, injuring 5 others

LYNWOOD, Calif. (AP) Authorities say a man who was fatally wounded in a Southern California shooting crashed his car into another vehicle as he attempted to flee, injuring five people. City News Service reports the shooting and crash happened late Friday near a public housing project in the Los Angeles suburb of Lynwood. Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor Michael Pittman says five people in the other vehicle were taken to hospitals with undisclosed injuries. Los Angeles police Sgt. V. Valenti says the shooting is believed to be gang-related.
