CHP motorcycle officer hospitalized following freeway crash

LOS ANGELES (AP) The California Highway Patrol says a motorcycle officer has been injured in a collision with a car on a Los Angeles freeway. Polizzi says the injured officer has been hospitalized in unknown condition. CHP Officer Tony Polizzi says the crash happened shortly after 8 a.m. Only one northbound lane was open and commuter traffic was backed up for several miles as the crash was investigated. Television news footage showed the CHP motorcycle overturned along the center divider.
