A 41-year-old woman was killed and her 11-year-old passenger injured in a three-vehicle collision in Whittier that may have been caused by street racing.

According to the preliminary investigation, two cars were traveling at high rate of speed northbound on Colima Road when a black BMW lost control and hit a white Hyundai, sending it into opposing lanes and causing it to crash into a Honda Accord being driven by the victim.

2 Arrested in Fatal Street-Racing Collision in Whittier

The Whittier Police Department on Thursday night booked Jacob Zamora of Anaheim and Cory Kiefer of unincorporated Whittier, both 23 years old. Each of their bails has been set at $1 million.   

Two Plead No Contest in Deadly Whittier Crash

Jacob Zamora and Corey Kiefer, both 24, were immediately sentenced to six years in state prison in connection with the Dec. 16, 2016, death of Natalie Volkoff, whose 11-year-old son survived the crash with minor injuries.
