Man in Wheelchair Shot in Face When Gunman Opens Fire at Car Event

It was unclear why the man was shot. Police were searching for the gunman.

"We're getting conflicting reports about a suspect description," said Lt. Bob Dunn.

A man is in serious condition after being shot in the face Wednesday at a car club gathering in Anaheim, California. The victim, a wheelchair-bound man in his 30's, was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in critical condition. The incident occured around 10:00 p.m. when a gunman opened fire at the meeting held in the parking lot of Dearden's furniture store on Euclid Street and La Palma Avenue. Police are unsure why the man was shot. Police have not yet located the gunman.
