A speeding motorist fatally struck a woman before crashing into at least six vehicles in Buena Park Sunday.

A speeding motorist fatally struck a woman before crashing into at least six vehicles in Buena Park Sunday.

Police initially received reports of a speeding driver, traveling 100 mph, heading eastbound in the westbound lanes of La Palma Avenue around 7 p.m.

The driver later ran a red light and a hit a woman who was walking in the area. The car then crossed into the opposite lanes and hit at least six vehicles.

The female victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The wrong-way driver was also transported, his or her condition remains unknown. Investigators were working to determine whether alcohol played a role in the incident.

I was in the black SUV. We were on our way to portilllos, the white SUV hit us and we flipped.

I was eating at Portillos on the patio when this happened. (If this is the same accident) I saw all six cars. Which one ran the light? The black car that was on its side or the white SUV?
