According to witnesses, the man, described as a transient, was running westbound across Newport Boulevard.
The man’s name was not released pending notification of family members.

According to witnesses, Patrick O’Gara, described as a transient, was running westbound across Newport Boulevard.
He was struck and killed by a 1988 Cadillac El Dorado driven by a 36-year-old Tustin man, Bakkila said.
