The crash in the area of Santiago Canyon and Haul roads occurred just before 2:25 a.m. and involved a vehicle striking a tree, the CHP reported.

The car was heading northbound on Santiago Canyon Road when for an unknown reason, it left the road, traveled through a barbed wire fence and hit the tree, according to a CHP statement read by dispatcher Mayra Delgado. It was not known how fast the sedan was going, she said.
