Callers told a California Highway Patrol dispatcher that one of the vehicles became fully engulfed in flames and passersby stopped and attempted to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher before first responders arrived.
CHP: Motorist Killed on Highway 371 Took Turn Too Fast, Causing Crash
CHP Officer Mike Lassig said that Barraza was headed west on the 371 in a 2017 Subaru Cross Trek when he entered a bend on the two-lane corridor and “was unable to maintain control” because of excess speed.
