One person killed after car collided with a tractor-trailer truck on Interstate 10

One person was killed this afternoon when a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer truck collided on Interstate 10 in unincorporated Desert Center, about midway between Coachella and Blythe.
A crash was reported at 3:09 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 10 at mile marker 109, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. There were two people in the car. One was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was brought to the hospital with injuries that were thought to be minor.
