He had almost made it across when he was hit by a car at around 10 p.m. just east of Tyler Street Tuesday, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Riverside Boy, 16, Killed While Trying to Cross 91 Freeway
Roberto Garcia, 16, died about 10:15 p.m. Monday on the eastbound 91 Freeway west of Tyler Street, according to a Riverside County coroner press release.

A 16-year-old boy was crossing 91 Freeway just east of Tyler Street and almost made it to the other side when he was struck by a car. The accident took place around 10 p.m. , and the driver stayed on the scene after the crash. The incident is still under investigation.
