Driver killed in fiery, head-on crash in Sutter County
The driver of the Chevrolet crossed the double-yellow lines into the path of the Jeep in an attempt to pass a vehicle in front of him.
However, the Chevrolet did not make it back into the westbound lane in time and crashed head-on into the Jeep.
The Chevrolet immediately burst into the flames, but the driver was able to get out and suffered minor injuries, the CHP said.
The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.
