The Toyota was traveling in the highway's eastbound lanes, at about 65 mph, when the truck somehow drifted onto the highway's shoulder. The driver then tried to turn the truck left, at which point the truck overturned multiple times, before coming to rest on the connector ramp, CHP officials said.

Two other women, identified as 62-year-old Maria Dixon and 51-year-old Marina Soto, both of Elk Grove, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The truck drifted onto the dirt and gravel shoulder then veered to the left back onto the roadway. The Toyota overturned multiple times and stopped on the transition ramp from eastbound Highway 80 to northbound Highway 113, according to the CHP.
