The female juvenile has bee identified as 17 year old Emily Brightwood of Mill Valley. She was alone in her car driving a 1997 Subaru Impreza wagon southbound, and a south county woman and her 15 year old daughter were in a 2013 Lincoln MKZ heading northbound on Hwy 49.

A 17-year-old girl was killed in a collision along Highway 49 Saturday evening, For unknown reasons, the girl lost control of her Subaru wagon and spun across all lanes of traffic. She was then struck by a Lincoln heading northbound. The teen driver – who has not yet been identified, was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The passengers in the Lincoln, an adult female and a girl believed to be her daughter, suffered moderate injuries and are being treated at a local hospital.
