Witnesses tried to rescue the people inside the Toyota, but the damage and where the car ended up prevented them from being of much help. Medics later pronounced the two people who were inside the Toyota dead at the scene.
Oakdale driver, 16, and her father killed in crash. Four others injured.
Giselle crossed into the eastbound lane, then returned to her correct lane. “Then suddenly, for reasons still under investigation, the Toyota turned abruptly to the left and re-entered the eastbound lane, directly into the path of the Dodge,” according to the CHP collision report.
