Authorities: 2 killed in Southern California plane crash

Authorities say two people were killed in the crash of a small plane near a Southern California nature preserve. Sheriff's spokeswoman Jodi Miller says the crash was reported Saturday northwest of the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve in the San Bernardino Mountains. Miller had no immediate details on the exact location, the type of plane and what time the crash occurred.

Investigators are on site of a deadly plane crash 23 miles northwest of Palm Springs this weekend. Santa Barbara's aviation community is mourning two people who died in the crash near the Big Morongo Canyon preserve in the San Bernardino mountains Saturday. The National Transportation Safety Board could not confirm to KESQ & CBS Local 2 if the plane crashed east or west of Highway 62. Trible was the general manager of Accurate Aviation in Santa Barbara.
