Boy struck and killed on Christmas scooter is identified
“He had a real good sense of adventure,” his godmother, Kathy Barnes, told KTLA. “He was just a really good kid. He was never sad, always happy.”
Martinez had just received a motorized Razor scooter for Christmas and was riding it west on 24th Street when a car struck and critically injured him. He was airlifted to a hospital but ended up dying shortly thereafter. The driver of the car remained at the scene of the crash and was not taken into custody.
