DUI, speeding suspected in Lakeport rollover crash

A 22-year-old Lakeport man was found trapped in an overturned pickup in what Lakeport police are investigating as a possible DUI crash.

Truck crash in Lakeport results in DUI investigation

Two Lakeport Police units responded immediately to the area and located a red 1992 Ford F150 pick-up upside down on its roof west of the west roadway edge of Lakeshore Blvd north of Lange Street. Officers located the adult male driver and solo occupant pinned inside of the vehicle. 

At around 1:15 a.m., Damon Thomas Wooldridge was driving his Ford pickup on Lakeshore Boulevard when he lost ontrol of the pickup and it hit the western curb, launching it airborne. The pickup crashed into an oak tree before coming to rest on its roof. Firefighters found Wooldridge trapped inside, and it took them about an hour to free him. He was taken to Sutter Lakeside Hospital for treatment of injurie sthat were demmed serious but non-life threatening. Authorities believe high speed was a factor in this crash, and that alcohol may have been involved.
