A high-speed chase through some of the busiest streets of San Francisco ended in a crash, and the suspect was taken into custody.
A high-speed chase through some of the busiest streets of San Francisco ended in a crash, and the suspect was taken into custody. It started when police stopped the suspect in the Bayview District. Police said the suspect was acting suspiciously as though in possession of a weapon or contraband, and took off. Officers pursued the suspect on a high-speed chase through the Bayview, Taravel and Ingleside neighborhoods. At one point the suspect rammed a vehicle and almost hit a patrol car. Shots were fired, hitting the car but missing the suspect. The chase ended when the suspect crashed across the street from the Park Police Station at Stanyan and Frederick streets. The suspect was arrested. One officer was hurt. It is still not clear whether the suspect had a gun.
