The man who was fatally struck by a train at the Powell Street Muni Metro Station in San Francisco on Saturday has been identified as Michael Mendez, 55.

The collision was reported around 2:40 p.m. at the Powell Muni station, a San Francisco Fire Lt. said. Emergency responders' arrived at the station to find a person on the train tracks who had been struck by an outbound train, he said.
The person, later identified as Michael Mendez, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene.
