One person killed, two injured and driver arrested after DUI crash on Branham Lane in Santa Clara County, California

One person was killed in a DUI crash near Martial Cottle Park in San Jose early Sunday morning, a police sergeant said. Officers responded to a report of a solo vehicle crash on Branham Lane near Snell Avenue at about 3:35 a.m., a San Jose police Sgt. said. Three people were inside the vehicle and all three were taken to local hospitals following the crash, police said. One of the passengers died at the hospital. The name of the victim was not released pending notification of next of kin. The driver was taken into custody and arrested for driving while intoxicated and manslaughter. The identity of the driver has not yet been released, according to police. The crash remains under investigation by the SJPD traffic investigations unit.
