San Jose police received reports of a single vehicle crash in the area of Blossom Hill Road and Waltrip Lane at 11:38 p.m. Responding officers found a vehicle crushed against a cement sign with a man and woman both trapped inside. Fire crews and paramedics responded to the scene, removing the woman from the car and sending her to a local hospital for treatment. The man was identified as James Edward Navarro Jr., 24, of San Jose, CA. and was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the collision is still being determined, and it is uncertain whether or not drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision.
