Driver killed in fiery San Jose freeway crash

The accident remained under investigation and forced the closure of all northbound lanes of Highway 101 near De La Cruz Blvd. for 2 ½ hours.

That led to the arrest of Quac Cong Le, 35, of San Jose, on suspicion of DUI, hit-and-run, and manslaughter while intoxicated, Lee said. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail Tuesday morning and is being held without bail.
An accident in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 at De La Cruz Blvd left one dead early Tuesday morning. Witness accounts to California Highway Patrol indicate that a white pickup truck struck a while sedan that was stalled near the center median after midnight. The collision forced the sedan across all lanes of traffic and into a wall, and the sedan burst into flames, trapping the driver. The driver could not be rescued and was killed. The pickup driver was not injured in the crash and was cooperating with police.
