Woman fatally struck by vehicle while riding bike in San Jose

This time a woman was killed while riding her bike next to a popular park.A woman riding was riding her bike around 8 a.m. on Chynoweth Avenue when she was hit by a full size white Chevy pickup truck. There has been another fatal accident on a San Jose road. There is a walking path that is dedicated right next to, adjacent to the street and however, this was a bicyclist," said San Jose police Lt. They don't expect any arrests and are calling this a tragic accident.This year in San Jose there have been significantly more people who have died in traffic fatalities than homicides. The sun was facing the driver at the time of the crash, but investigators say they're still trying to determine the cause.

Female Bicyclist Struck by Car, Killed in San Jose

A bicyclist was killed Monday morning after colliding with a car in San Jose, police said. The victim, who Sims said looked to be around 40 or 50 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorist was heading to work when the female bicyclist was struck. An investigation is ongoing and Sims said that it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police, Sims noted.

Rosamaria Ruminski, a 52-year-old San Jose resident, was riding a bicycle near the intersection of Chynoweth Avenue and Duesenberg Drive when she was hit by the truck, according to the Santa Clara County coroner's office. Ruminski was pronounced dead at the scene.

THIS IS TRULY SO SAD. I HAVE KNOWN ROSEMARIE FOR MANY YEARS. I HAVE WATCHED HER TWO BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTERS GROW UP. MY HEART GOES OUT TO HER FAMILY.
