Daniel Estrada Heidecker, 26, killed in pedestrian accident with commercial truck on U.S. Highway 101 in Santa Rosa, California

The pedestrian who died after he was struck by two vehicles on U.S. Highway 101 Wednesday morning was identified as 26-year-old Daniel Estrada Heidecker of Santa Rosa.Heidecker was crossing the highway around 6:18 a.m. when he was hit by a big-rig towing a flatbed trailer.Heidecker was thrown 100 feet into the left lane where he was then hit by a Toyota Highlander. The truck driver stopped and called 911, but the female driver of the Toyota pulled over several miles north at Airport Boulevard and then called the California Highway Patrol.Heidecker was pronounced dead at the scene of the collisions.    What’s different about a truck accident?
