2 injured in Occidental Road head-on crash

Santa Rosa police are investigating Wednesday’s head-on crash on Occidental Road in west Santa Rosa involving a Mustang driver who crossed into opposing traffic and crashed into an SUV.

At around 8:50 a.m. a Mustang driven by Hannah Rae Kahler crossed the double yellow lines and collided with a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Kari Cagle head on. Kahler was pinned below her knees in the wreck and had to be cut free by firefighters. She was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with apparently serious but non-life-threatening injuries to her legs and chest. Cagle was also hospitalized. Occidental Road was closed for a few hours while investigators were at the scene.
