“I yelled ‘Mommmm!’” Fitzsimmons said, lightheartedly describing his memory of the crash. “My bed is parallel to the wall, so I was amazed when I was in the closet and I looked up and saw headlights shining in my bedroom. My bed was everywhere.”

Liam Fitzsimmons was sleeping in his Santa Rosa home around 4 a.m. Monday morning when the truck barreled through the wall, splitting his bed in half and catapulting him across the room and through his closet door. Remarkably, he was not badly injured. The driver, Timothy Charles Bendana,  initially fled the scene but was later apprehended and faces charges.
