Man killed in Bennett Valley Road crash

A Rohnert Park man observed driving recklessly in the moments before he lost control of his car killed himself and injured another driver on rural Bennett Valley Road on Sunday evening, the CHP said. 
The deceased driver has been identified as James Godsey, 62, who was driving westbound on Bennett Valley Road when he crossed the center line on a curve to pass another vehicle. Godsey lost control of his Hundai Sonata and slid in the eastbound lane. Driver Tina Gonzalez, 43, of Santa Rosa, was approaching in a Dodge Neon and the two cars crashed. The Sonata then flipped; Godsey died from his injuries. Gonzalez suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
