Motorcycle police officer seriously injured after hit by car that ran red light on Lawrence Expressway in Sunnyvale, CA

At about 9:30pm, two California Highway Patrol officers that were on motorcycles were exiting Highway 101 onto Lawrence Expressway when a car traveling the opposite direction as them ran a red light and struck one of the officers. The officer was sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
