100 rescue dogs safe after transport truck crashes en route to Seattle

SEATTLE - A hundred rescue dogs being transported from Texas are safe, and some are on the way to Seattle after their transport truck crashed in Colorado. The dogs were taken to the Eagle Fairgrounds' Eagle River Center where approximately 150 volunteers came out to walk and clean the animals. Tall Tails Rescue and Transport is transporting the dogs from high-kill shelters in Texas to animal rescue centers across Washington state. The community's response was "unbelievable," Daniel Ettinger, manager of Eagle County Animal Shelter and Services told KOMO News. That's when Eagle County Animal Shelter and Services sprang into action, and coordinated efforts to house and care for the dogs until a new truck arrived.
