Man in wheelchair killed in auto-pedestrian crash on Alameda Avenue in Aurora

Police reopened Alameda Avenue shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday night after conducting an investigation of the scene.
At about 3:30 p.m., the driver of an eastbound vehicle on Alameda Avenue apparently experienced a medical emergency that caused them to lose consciousness and drive up onto the southern sidewalk, where the car struck and killed an unidentified man in a wheelchair. It then continued to collide with a power pole and finally another car. Both the first driver and the driver of that car sustained only minor injuries. We will add more information to this story as it is made available.
