Don’t text and drive, don’t talk on the phone, keep your eyes on the road because you don’t know what’s going to happen,” said Colorado State Patrol Cpl. Heath Griscavage.

Deadly crash shuts down I-25 for hours; driver talks about close call

“I didn’t really have time to think. It just happened so fast. All I saw was something coming at me, and then, all of a sudden, a loud noise, and then the airbag went off. Everything was just going on and going by me.”
Colorado State Patrol says a female driver in an SUV was southbound when she struck the guardrail of Interstate 25, overcorrected, and swerved across all lanes of traffic vefore striking the center concrete barrier, going over the barrier and into the southbound lanes. The driver, the lone, occupant, died in the crash. She was not wearing a seat belt. Three vehicles were hit with debris from the SUV hitting the barrier. The 4 p.m. crash is under investigation.
