Two deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office were hurt when their unmarked patrol car crashed early Sunday morning.

Two deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office were hurt when their unmarked patrol car crashed early Sunday morning.

The crash happened at the intersection of Interstate 76 and Interstate 25 north of Denver after their vehicle rolled.

Rescue crews had to cut the deputies out of the vehicle. They were on duty at the time of the crash.

Heather Cobbler with the Colorado State Patrol said the vehicle traveled off the south side of the roadway and struck a guardrail and a light pole, before rolling down an embankment.

The deputies were responding to a report of a dangerous driver at the time of the crash.

Both deputies were rushed to the hospital. One of the deputies underwent surgery for injuries. Neither deputy has been identified.

The ramp from eastbound I-76 to southbound I-25 was closed for several hours during the accident cleanup and crash investigation.
