The crash happened about 10:30 a.m. at the Empire junction with U.S. 40 when the truck traveling westbound went through the median and hit the pillars of a bridge on the eastbound side.

Troopers say Sean Bello was traveling westbound on I-70[1] when — for an unknown reason — he crossed the median into oncoming lanes of traffic and slammed into an overpass support column.
