Double fatal head-on crash in Longmont

It happened around 3 p.m. in front of Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church on 17th Avenue near Gay Street.

A full traffic team is investigating the cause of the accident.  Cage said 17th Avenue would remain closed at the crash site while the investigation continued. They believe the SUV crossed the center line before the head-on collision.

Therese Woodworth, 58, of Dacono, and Lisa Garcia, 28, of Longmont, died in the crash that occurred at around 3:06 p.m. in the 1300 block of 17th Avenue, between Bowen and Gay streets, according to the Coroner's Office.

Longmont police: 'No clue' what caused double-fatality crash

The Boulder County Coroner's Office has said autopsies will be conducted on both women, and the cause and manner of each fatality is pending further investigation. Police asked that anyone who witnessed the accident call 303-774-4840.

Theresa G. (Feeley) Woodworth, of Holbrook, age 87, entered eternal life Tuesday, June 17, 2014, surrounded by her family after a long, full life.
Two children that were in the SUV suffered minor injuries. One of the drivers died at the scene and another died after being transported to the hospital.

...with this much damage...both vehicles look as tho speeding far more than the posted 35-40 MPH was a problem. SPEEDING ON ALL COLORADO ROADWAYS IS ILLEGAL AND SPEED KILLS. Sadly the families are never going to be the same. Prayers to all involved.

I heard that the 28 year old woman had a seizure. That would explain a lot.

That seizure is purely speculation. It is still not known what had caused the accident.
