The Gunnison County coroner says the accident happened Monday close to Kebler Pass.
The coroner said Tuesday the victim is not being identified pending notification of relatives. The other snowmobiler was not seriously injured.
The Colorado Avalanche Information Center says the avalanche was about 500 feet wide. The center says Monday's death is the ninth nationally this season.
