A person suspected of hitting a man and then driving off in a Home Depot parking lot has turned himself in.

Thornton police are investigating a hit-and-run that sent one man to the hospital on Sunday.
Thornton police are investigating a hit-and-run that sent one man to the hospital on Sunday. The accident happened at a Home Depot on Grant Street. Police believe a 63-year-old victim was getting inside his Ford Ranger pickup when it happened. Police believe a red Chevrolet Cavalier struck the passenger side of the pickup. The impact was so strong it knocked the victim to the ground, causing a severe head injury. The victim is listed in critical condition. Witnesses say the suspect’s vehicle had heavy front end damage and was leaking radiator fluid. The vehicle was last seen near 104th and North Grant Street.
