The car was "totaled," with its entire left side heavily damaged where smashed into the tree, according to a summary of the incident released Saturday.
A state trooper was flown to Hartford Hospital Friday night after her cruiser drove off the right side of Rt. 66 in Columbia and crashed into a tree. Trooper Stacy Clark suffered a non-life-threatening injury to her left arm when her 2011 Ford Crown Victoria that she was driving east went off the right shoulder of the highway, three-tenths of a mile east of the Hunt Road intersection. The car was "totaled," with its entire left side heavily damaged where smashed into the tree, according to a summary of the incident released Saturday by state police. Police released no more information Saturday about the one-car accident, such as where the trooper was headed or at what speed. The crash is under investigation.
