A bicycle rider from Vernon was injured Sunday afternoon in a collision with a car that was making a U-turn on Mountain Street.

Welch collided with a vehicle operated by Dylan James Slater. Welch suffered "incapacitating injury" and was taken to a hospital in Hartford via ambulance. The full extent of Welch's injuries are unknown, but he was known to be wearing a helmet. Slater was not injured, nor were any passengers in his car.
