Connecticut state police are reporting dozens of motor vehicle accidents and schools across the state are closing early as snow continues to blanket the region.

State police say more than 80 crashes were reported by late Tuesday morning, including eight with minor injuries. Troopers say roads are still slippery in some places and they’re advising motorists to slow down and put their headlights on.

Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks reports the snowy weather has led to about 15 to 20 flight cancellations, about 10 percent of average daily flights. Metro-North says there are no major delays on Connecticut rail lines.

Some schools closed for the day, while scores of others are dismissing early.

The National Weather Service says two to four inches of snow were expected by Tuesday evening.
