Several people hurt in Litchfield motorcycle crash

Police say that Route 63 was closed in the area of Norfolk Road around 1:30 p.m. due to a multi-motorcycle crash. Several people were hurt, including at least one person who suffered life threatening injuries.

Life Star was requested to the scene for two people. Police did not release any further details.

Motorcycle passenger killed in crash identified as Harwinton woman, 33

When they arrived troopers found the Litchfield woman, 57, who had been driving the SUV, a 2014 Ford Escape S. She told them there had been a motorcycle in her lane and she had swerved into the southbound lane to avoid it.

Troopers found she swerved into the path of a group of 18 motorcycles and had hit four Harley Davidsons.

 

Litchfield woman facing manslaughter charge in connection with October crash

Waterbury now faces a second degree manslaughter charge, DUI, assault, and tampering with physical evidence charges. She is being held on $1,000,000 bond.
