45-year-old woman, 22-year-old man injured, transported to hospital, after a rear-end collision on I-384 in Manchester.
I-384 West Reopened After Crash.
Two drivers were hurt and traffic was backed up after an accident on I-384 Thursday morning.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene on the westbound side, just after the on-ramp from South Main Street, at about 7:25 a.m. A 45-year-old Manchester woman driving a PT Cruiser was either entering the highway or had stopped in the breakdown lane when her car was struck from behind by a car driven by a 22-year-old East Hartford man, Assistant Fire Chief David Billings wrote in a news release.
The force of the crash sent the PT Cruiser across three lanes, scattering debris all over the highway, Billings said.
The highway was shut down between Exits 2 and 3 while firefighters extricated the woman from her crumpled car. Both drivers were taken by amublance to trauma centers in Hartford with non-life threatening injuries, Billings said. State police are investigating the accident
