Multi-vehicle crash closes I-95 in Old Lyme
According to Connecticut State Police, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a multi-vehicle crash took place on Interstate 95 northbound between exits 70 and 71. Police say one of the vehicles involved in the crash was a truck and trailer towing an excavator.

State police said a tractor-trailer was stopped the right lane of the highway, between exits 70 and 71, just before 2 p.m. because of a traffic backup and McCarthy’s 2003 Ford Mustang was stopped behind it when a dump truck came up behind it and hit it.
