Two Old Saybrook police officers were treated for injuries they suffered as they tried to pull a woman from her burning car Friday night.
Old Saybrook police said the woman was killed in a one-car crash on Middlesex Highway and Bokum Road shortly after 10 p.m. Friday night, the Hartford Courantreported. Investigators said the car apparently left the roadway and slammed into a tree. When police first arrived on the scene the car was burning, and the two officers attempted to remove the woman from the wreckage.She was pronounced dead at the scene.
