Police recovered part of the vehicle's front bumper and a full headlight assembly at the scene and found the twisted bicycle on James P. Casey Road.

Police say a boy was riding his bike in the area of 85 North Main Street in Terryville when the accident occurred. Witnesses reported a Chrysler minivan traveling north struck the boy and continued driving, dragging the victim’s bike under the bumper.

A boy was seriously injured Saturday by a driver who ran into the youth on North Street and sped away in the damaged car, dragging the boy's bicycle under the front bumper a few miles into Bristol. The victim was taken by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. His condition was not available Saturday evening. The hit-and-run happened at 2:59 p.m. by 85 North Main St. Witnesses told police that a dark blue or charcoal colored Chrysler minivan struck the boy on his bicycle, then drove north at a high rate of speed, turned right onto North Riverside Ave., left onto East Plymouth Road and right onto Matthrews Street toward Bristol.
