2 Adults, 2 Kids Injured in Crash, Driver Charged

Four people were injured in Sunday morning crash in northeast Washington, and police have charged the driver with driving under the influence. Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle accident on Benning Road and 34th Street Northeast shortly after midnight. Two adults and two children were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A Metropolitan Police Department spokesman said they charged the driver, Freddie Herndon, 26, of southeast Washington, with driving under the influence. The spokesman didn’t have any updates on the conditions of the injured.
