John M. Simone, 42, killed and Marie R. Taylor, 26, injured when struck by vehicle on Metro Parkway in Fort Myers, Florida

The report states that a 1998 Mercedes C230W, driven by Michael Bortolametti, 22, of Cape Coral, was traveling south on Metro Parkway in the left lane approaching Topaz Court when it struck Simone, a pedestrian who was standing by a parked motorcycle in the continuous left turn lane, and Marie R. Taylor, 26, of Fort Myers.
