Middleburg motorcycle crash kills Clay County man

A 33-year-old Middleburg man died Wednesday evening in a motorcycle crash in Clay County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The man, whose name has not been released yet, was riding his Honda on Long Horn Road near Short Horn Road about 7:30 p.m. off County Road 218. A Ford Explorer coming in the other direction turned in front of him heading into a driveway, the Highway Patrol said. The SUV driver was 52-year-old Johnny Terherst of Green Cove Springs, the FHP said. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from his bike.

Motorcyclist killed in Clay County crash identified

Nicholas Wisor was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported to St. Vincent’s in Clay County, where he died from his injuries. Terherst was not injured.
