The preliminary investigation showed Woodson, who was the front seat passenger, was ejected from the car as it overturned in the crash shortly after 1 a.m. Woodson, who died at the scene, wasn’t wearing his seat belt. Hutsell was wearing her seat belt. McNeil wasn’t wearing his, the highway patrol said. Their car was westbound on J. Turner Butler Boulevard when for an unknown reason, Hutsell lost control. The car spun around and overturned.

All three occupants of the car were from Jacksonville. Woodson was a passenger in a car driven by Laura Marie Hutsell. Hutsell sustained minor injuries, but a second passenger, Ernest McNeil, was taken in serious condition to UF Health Jacksonville, according to the highway patrol.
